Organising the home medicine box

Organising the Home Medicine Box. If you’ve ever had to administer pain relief to a screaming child at 3am, you know how painful the experience is for everyone. Try this simple hack – it will make life so much easier when you’re looking for the right medicine at times when you’re barely awake or when you need to act quickly with first aid.

If you’ve ever had to administer pain relief to a screaming child at 3am, you know how painful the experience is for everyone.

Try this simple hack – it will make life so much easier when you’re looking for the right medicine at times when you’re barely awake or when you need to act quickly with first aid.

Categorise all medicines in your home in clear plastic bags, then file all of them in a snap lock box. Here are some ideas for categories, but categorise in whatever way suits your family.
– Headaches
– Scrapes and cuts
– Tummy
– Travel
– Baby
– or categorise by family member

When your child calls out in the middle of the night, it will be easy to identify which bag you need to grab instead of sorting through countless little boxes to find what you’re after. When they come to you with a bleeding knee, you won’t be sorting through everything to find a bandaid.

Organising first aid

Check your medicine box every 6 months to top up essentials and discard any out of date medicines.

Always remember to keep the medicine box in a child-proof container and out of reach of kids eg. in a snap lock box, placed on a high shelf in a locked cupboard.

What a great idea. I have boxes for each person, but they could be organised further like this.
