Review: Effortless Nappy

When my son was born, I had all the best intentions to at least partially cloth nappy. He is now nearly 22 months old and his bum had never seen a cloth nappy – not even once. That is, until the lovely Hannah from Effortless Eco sent me an Effortless Nappy to try.

Review: Effortless Nappy. This really was a great starting point for someone who knows nothing about liners, inserts, boosters and pailing – it really is the effortless nappy.

Whilst I waited for the nappy to arrive, I thought to myself “what have I set myself up for?!” I know nothing about cloth nappies! Gulp! I must admit, I was expecting a big bulky lump and to be fluffing around with inserts and liners… but boy was I wrong. Cloth nappies have come a long way!

I was most impressed by how incredibly soft the entire nappy was. It was actually perfect timing as my little guy had developed a redness where the disposable nappy had been pulled taught around his waist. So lovely to put this incredibly luxurious fabric nappy on him.

There are also no annoying inserts, it’s an all-in-one. For a Modern Cloth Nappy (MCN) newbie, this was so easy to use, even whilst my son did a rendition of the jive whilst being changed. You literally whack it on just like a disposable nappy. The press studs mean you can pull it as taught as you wish. And it fit perfectly. It’s a bit late for us, but the myriad of press studs also means these can be used from birth to toilet training.

I left it on him for his nap and no leaks either – and he drinks water like it’s going out of fashion! OK, so we didn’t have a poo – probably a good thing for an MCN newbie though.

Clean up was simply throwing it in the wash on a warm cycle and it took a day to dry. Came out perfect.

Can you tell I’m totally sold? This really was a great starting point for someone who knows nothing about liners, inserts, boosters and pailing – it really is the effortless nappy.
